Mir Mosharrof Hossain
During the Bangkim era of Bengali literature, people of Bengal were introduced to a different psyche in the literary work of Mir Mosharrof Hossain. He was the first Muslim writer writing essays. The paternal home of his grandfather Mir Ebrahim is at Padamdi village in Nababpur union of Baliakandi upazila in Rajbari district. He was born in 1847 at his maternal grandfather’s home of Saguta in Kustia. He had a deep connection with his father, grandfather and his ancestor’s place, Padamdi. He composed 35 books Novel. Drama, Biography, History, Theology and Musical poems. His notable works include Ratnabati (1869), Gazi Miar Bostani, Bishad Sindhu (1885-1891), Udashin Pothiker Moner Kotha (1890), drama Boshonto Kumari(1873), Jamindar Darpan(1873)etc. He spent his last days in Padamdi and after his death he was buried there in 1912. At present Mir Mosharrof Hossain memorial has been set up there.
Dr. Kazi Motahar Hossain
Dr. Kazi Motahar Hossain is a prominent educationist, scientist, litterateur, essayist, scholar, statistician and chess player. His paternal home is at Bagmara village of Pangsha upazila in Rajbari district. He was born in1897. He joined the same department as lecturer after completing his MSc in Physics from Dhaka University in 1921. He worked in the Institute of statistical Research and Training of Dhaka University from 1964 to 1966. He was awarded honorary Doctorate degree in 1974 by Dhaka University. His notable compilings are Najrul Kabya Porichiti, Symposium, Alok Biggan (Optics) etc.
Mohammad Eakub Ali Chowdhury
Mohammad Eakub Ali Chowdhury advanced the backward Muslims by virtue of his literary work, political awareness and educational reforms. He was born at Maguradangi village of Pangsha upazila in 1888. He passed Entrance from Surjakumar Institution after completing ME from Pangsha High School and then started teaching. The main theme of his composition is Islamic philosophy and culture. His writings deserve special dignty due to the robustness of speech. gravity of thoughts, and sweetness of language. His published works are Dhormer Kahini(1914),(Story of Religion), Nurnobi(1918), Shanti Dhara(1918), Manob Muktut(1926)etc. He died on 15th December in 1940.
Kazi Abdul Odud
Kazi Abdul Odud was born at Banmara village of pangsha upazila in 1894. He passed Entrance from Dhaka Collegiate School in 1913. Later he passed IA from Presidency College, Kolkata in 1915 and BA in 1917. He completed MA in Economics from Kolkata University in 1919. His books Rflect profound devotion for Islam and Hazrat Mohammad (SM). His Notable writings are Nodibokkhi (1918), Kobiguru: dui khondo(1962-1969), Shomaj O Sahittya (1934),Shashwoto breathed his last on 19th may 1070 in Kolkata.
Monsur Ul Karim
Monsur Ul Karim is an artist who’s artworks have added new dimension in the arts world of Bangladesh. He is one of the contemporary artists of Bangladesh achieving prominance. Monsur Ul Karim is one of those fifteen famous arttists whose works were showcased in the Ninth Asia biennial Art Exhibition deld in the Art Gallery in 1999. The nature of Bangladesh and the aesthetic expressinon of human beings are the characteristics of his creatinons. Hills, plain land, river, soil, paddy fieldd, canals, trees, sky, cloudd, rain, and people complete his canvas in the form of abstractinon. Monsur Ul Karim is a man of Rajbari and he was born in 1950. At present, He is a professor of Fine Arts department at Chittaong University. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in fine arts in 2009.
